Predoctoral researcher
Nuria M. Wentzien holds a degree in Biochemistry (University of Málaga). During her Master’s degree in Biotechnology at the University of Granada she joined the MAE group where she developed her final master thesis. In this project, she wanted to disentangle the possible influence of the tree associated microbiome in the tolerance to Verticillium Wilt (Verticillium dahliae Kleb.). In this sense, no differences were found between susceptible and tolerant cultivars (Picual and Frantoio, respectively). This project resulted in a publication in PloS ONE.
Currently, she is at her predoctoral stage studying the effects on microbial communities of pesticides. In order to achieve this, ecological and traditional plots have been selected and sampled. Results will come soon!
