He got a PhD in Biological Sciences (University of Buenos Aires and Biotechnology Institute &#8211; INTA) in 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-extra-small-font-size\">During the <strong>predoctoral stage<\/strong> at the Bioenergy Lab, his research was focused on the study of cellulolytic processes in insects and, the identification and characterization of alternative cellulose-degrading insect enzymes with a potential application in second-generation bioethanol manufacturing and other biotechnological bioproducts. Among her <strong>main findings<\/strong>, it stands out the characterization of two novel GH5 endoglucanases (GH5CelA and GH5CelB) from an uncultured bacterium identified in termite gut microbiomes. These GH5 are good candidates for the production of cello-oligosaccharides of different degrees of polymerization applicable for feed and food industries, including prebiotics, and could be useful in an enzymatic cocktail for the production of lignocellulosic bioethanol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-extra-small-font-size\">Currently, he is at his <strong>postdoctoral stage<\/strong>, at Zaid\u00edn Experimental Station, studying the microbial communities (bacterial and fungal) associated with root in several sunflowers (<em>Helianthus annuus<\/em>) inbred lines of varying resistance to <em>Verticillium dahliae<\/em> Kleb.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Postdoctoral researcher Emiliano Ben Guerrero is a Biotechnology and Molecular Biology graduated from the National University of La Plata, Argentina (2012).
